
Senior Brooke Peterson scored the game-winning goal in the fourth quarter as Emmaus went on the road and rallied for a wild 11-10 win at Freedom on Thursday afternoon.
Trailing by a pair of goals entering the final quarter, the Hornets outscored Freedom 3-0 the rest of the way as they evened their overall record at 1-1 and 1-0 in the EPC.
Seven different players scored goals in the victory for head coach Roxann Betz’s squad. Senior Abby DiComes had a six-point effort with two goals to go along with four assists, while juniors Sarah Gross and Taylor Younker along with sophomore McKenna Guzick each added two goals and an assist. Junior Kate Newhard also added a goal. Between the pipes, senior Devin O’Neil made nine saves.
For Freedom, Karee Vandever led all scorers with a game-high five goals. Jenelle Karabinus added two goals and two assists for the Patriots who fell to 0-2 on the season.
Emmaus will close out the week on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. as they travel to Central Bucks South for a non-league game.
