Girls Soccer – Hornets have six-game win streak snapped as Central Catholic scores pair of second half goals to rally for 2-1 win

RECAP >> Emmaus had its six-game win streak snapped on Wednesday afternoon at the Iron Lakes Complex as rival Central Catholic scored a pair of goals in the second half to defeat the Hornets 2-1.

Emmaus had led 1-0 at the half on a goal from senior Gianna Albanese, but the Vikes rallied after the break as Erica Dietz and Hannah Hoeing both scored goals in the second half to help Central Catholic rally for the win.

The loss dropped the Hornets to 9-3 overall and 8-3 in the EPC, while the Vikings improved to 8-3-1 and 7-3-1 in the league.

Emmaus will look to bounce back on Saturday at 9 a.m. as they return home to Memorial Field to host Northampton (7-3-1/9-3-1). The Hornets won the first meeting back on August 31, 3-2.
