RECAP >> A busy week that included four games in a six-day stretch wrapped up yesterday for Emmaus as the Hornets had an early wakeup call for a 9 a.m. non-league road contest at District 2’s Dallas where they earned a 2-2 draw.

Sophomore Lizzy Bender’s goal in the second half, her 10th of the season, tied the game for Emmaus which had trailed 2-1 at the break.

The two teams wound up playing two 10-minute overtime periods with neither team scoring, resulting in the Hornets second tie of the season.

Head coach Chris Hain’s squad remains unbeaten as they improve to 12-0-2.

Junior Emma Paradise scored her first goal of the year in the 6th minute of play giving Emmaus a 1-0 lead before the Mountaineers rallied with a pair of goals from Iris Hobson-Tomascik.

On Friday, Emmaus used a pair of second half goals from Bender and senior Gabby Powell as they defeated Pleasant Valley 2-0, earning their 10th shutout of the season.

The Hornets will return to action this week with a pair of games as they travel to East Stroudsburg North on Tuesday at 4 p.m. before hosting Nazareth in a key EPC matchup on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
