Girls Soccer – Eight different players score goals in Hornets 9-0 rout of Pocono Mountain East

RECAP >> Emmaus got balanced scoring from eight different players as the Hornets put up a season-high for goals in a game in a 9-0 rout of Pocono Mountain East last night at home at Memorial Field.

The win keeps Emmaus unbeaten in EPC play (5-0) and ups their overall mark to 5-2-0 on the season.

Sophomore midfielder Taylor Griffith was the only player in the game with multiple goals (2), while seniors Kaitlyn Ewing and Kam Watkins each added a goal and an assist. Juniors Maddi Woodward and Paige Inman, seniors Sophia Candy and Hannah Yencho along with freshman Kamryn McWhinney also scored for the Hornets. Junior Casey Bender had a game-high two assists.

In goal, senior Molly Lineberger and junior Megan King combined on the shutout.

Statistically, Emmaus dominated in both shots (13-0) and corners (11-0)

The Hornets will return to action at 6 p.m. Thursday as they host rival Central Catholic.
