Girls Tennis – Chow captures third place in singles, teammates Gao and McGlory also finish third in doubles at EPC Tournament

RECAP >> Sophomore Jocelyn Chow and the doubles tandem of senior Ivory Gao and sophomore Payton McGlory captured third place at the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Tournament held on Friday at Freedom High School.

Chow defeated Central Catholic’s Meagan Nicchwiadowicz 8-3 in the No.2 singles consolation final, while Gao and McGlory beat Freedom’s Gabriella Barndt and Anna Isbell 8-6 at No.3 doubles.

Teammates Shelby Carter and Teya Gougoustamos took fourth place after falling to Bethlehem Catholic’s Siobhan Koons and Grace Hartman at No.4 doubles

In singles action, Hornets No.1 player junior Mia Columbus dropped her opening-round match to Bethlehem Catholic’s Shannon Stewart 8-2, while at No.3 singles, classmate Misa Hollinger was upset by the sixth-seed, Pocono Mountain East’s Jess Passmore by the same score.

Sophomore Krissy Heilenman and freshman Riley Stuckey, Emmaus’ No. 2 doubles team, fell in their opening-round match to Central Catholic’s Emma Sweterlitsch and Kara Wang 8-2.

Parkland wound up winning the tournament after crowning champs at No.1 singles and sweeping all three doubles.
