The District XI Individual Girls Wrestling Tournament will get underway this weekend at Freedom High School.
Action gets started at 1 p.m. on Saturday with first round matchups and will continue on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. The finals and consolation finals will begin at 2 p.m.
Emmaus, which finished the dual meet season with an 8-3 mark in the EPC and 13-4 overall, will send 12 wrestlers to the tournament.
Senior Olivya Kroope is the Hornets highest seeded wrestler earning the No. 1 seed with a 26-1 record on the season. Kroope, currently ranked No. 6 in the state, is looking to defend her title from a year ago.
Junior Ariana Koberlein (21-6) earned a No. 2 seed at 148, sister Brynn Koberlein (19-9) is the No. 5 seed at 136 and freshman Nitzana Jamaica (22-8) is the No. 7 seed at 100.
A year ago, Emmaus finished 13th overall in the team race. Easton is the defending champion.
The top three wrestlers at each weight class will advance to the Southeast Regional Tournament at Quakertown on February 22.
Ticket prices are $10 at the door. Advanced tickets can be purchased for each session at Hometown Ticketing at $8 up to one hour prior to session start time.
