Golf – Hornets fall from the ranks of unbeaten by three strokes to rival Liberty.

RECAP >> Emmaus suffered its first loss of the season on Thursday as they fell to nemesis Liberty by a mere three strokes (384-387) at Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course.

Liberty, the defending Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and District XI champions, defeated the Hornets for the third straight time to remain unbeaten (11-0), while Emmaus (10-1) fell from the ranks of the unbeaten.

Emmaus was led by senior Matt Zerfass who fired a 1-over 72 and classmate Evelyn Wong who was just one stroke back with a 2-over 73. Senior Aidan LeBlanc was third with a 6-over 77.

Liberty was led by junior Matt Vital who took home top honors with a 4-under 67.

The Hornets will return to action on September 9 as they host Stroudsburg at Brookside Country Club.
