
Junior Taylor Younker scored the game-winning goal in the last minute of play as the Hornets won a back-and-forth affair with Central Catholic, 10-9 on Tuesday night at Memorial Field.
Younker took pass a pass from fellow junior Sarah Gross and put a shot past Vikings goalie Trizzah Savagaji with just :41 seconds left in regulation as Emmaus celebrated its third straight win.
With the victory, the Hornets improved to 5-2 in the EPC and 7-4 overall, while Central Catholic dropped to 3-5 in the league and 6-6 overall.
Gross led Emmaus’ scoring attack with a four-point night (3g/1a), while classmate Rylie Poll and sophomore Sofia Isaksson each added two goals and an assist. Younker also scored two goals and junior Kate Newhard had a goal and an assist.
For CCHS, senior Kate Raymond scored a game-high four goals. Classmate Abby Aemisegeo added a pair of goals. In goal, Savagaji was credited with five saves.
Emmaus will return to action on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. as they host Boyertown in a non-league game.
