“My biggest challenge is not being able to see my teammates and friends.” That’s what Richie Tracchio says. Our Q and A with the boys lacrosse senior

Editor’s Note: Over the next weeks and months, Emmaussports.com will be spotlighting senior spring sports student-athletes at Emmaus High School who have had their final athletic year cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Today we spotlight senior Richie Tracchio (RT) from the Emmaus boys lacrosse team with our Q and A session:

Q: How are you coping during these difficult and uncertain times with the Coronavirus pandemic?

RT: I’ve been hanging around the house trying to keep the faith that this epidemic will be over soon and we will return back to normal. I’ve been working a lot, exercising, and hanging out with my family to pass the time.

Q: What’s been the biggest challenge for you day in and day out?

RT: My biggest challenge is not being able to see my teammates and friends every day like I use to.

Q: What are you doing to keep busy?

RT: I’ve been landscaping, working out, doing school work, and watching way too much Netflix.

Q; How do you feel now that the spring sports season has been cancelled?

RT: I’m super disappointed that I didn’t get to enjoy my last season as a Hornet playing with my brothers. However, I’ll always be thankful for the memories I’ve made the past four years.

Q: What is your favorite memory from your high school sports career?

RT: Easily, winning the District XI Championship last season. Nothing felt better than finally beating Parkland for the first time in 2 1/2 years to win the title.

Q: What are you future plans after high school?

RT: I plan to attend either the University of Tennessee or the University of Oregon and study Finance. Although I’m not playing for a school team, I plan on joining a bunch of intramural sports teams.

Q: What’s the best advice you can give to your underclassmen?

RT: Don’t take a moment for granted. Enjoy your time in high school because it flies by. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
