Rifle – Hornets beat Freedom in NEPARL Semifinals 998-986, to face Stroudsburg in Thursday’s final

RECAP >> The Emmaus rifle team defeated Freedom 998-986 in yesterday’s NEPARL semifinals held at Unami shooting range in Emmaus.

With the victory, the Hornets (8-1) advance to Thursday’s 2 p.m. championship match at home versus Stroudsburg. The Mountaineers defeated East Stroudsburg South in the other semifinal.  Emmaus has already beaten Stroudsburg once this season, 500-497 back on December 21, 2022.

Emmaus also clinched a berth in the Pa. State Team Tournament to be held on February 14 in Hellertown.

Senior Griffin Lake topped the individual leaderboard with a score of 200 (19x) for the Hornets followed by sophomores Sanaiya O’Neal 200 (17x) and Shannon Yard 200 (15x).

Freedom was led by Drew Craven and Ashley McElroy who each fired a score of 199 (16x).
