Soccer – Boys and Girls teams post shutout victories over PM East to remain unbeaten on the season

RECAP >> Both the Emmaus boys and girls teams picked up shutout wins over Pocono Mountain East yesterday to remain undefeated on the season.

At Memorial Field, senior Blaise Verrastro scored a pair of goals and added an assist as the Hornets remained perfect on the season (6-0 EPC/Overall).

Junior Ryan Kiernan tallied his team-leading sixth goal of the season, while classmate Elijah Daly scored his first career varsity goal.

Emmaus will return to the pitch on Wednesday at 4 p.m. as they travel to Bethlehem Catholic (2-5 overall/2-4 EPC).

GIRLS:

At Pocono Mountain East, junior Sammy Walkiewicz and senior Paige Inman each scored a goal as the Hornets went on the road and defeated the Cardinals 2-0.

With the victory, Emmaus improved to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the EPC. The shutout was the fifth of the season.

The Hornets will return to action on Wednesday as they host Bethlehem Catholic (3-3 overall/3-2 EPC) at 6:30 p.m.
