Soccer – Inman scores pair of goals as girls remain unbeaten with 2-1 win over Nazareth; Moyer’s goal in 2nd OT is game-winner for boys who also stay unbeaten with 1-0 victory

RECAP >> After giving up its first goal of the season on a penalty kick, the Lady Hornets were able to rally with a pair of scores last night at Nazareth as they remained unbeaten on the season (5-0 overall/4-0 EPC) with a dramatic 2-1 win over the Blue Eagles.

Senior Paige Inman tied the game at 1-1 with her third goal of the season midway thru the second half and then scored the game-winner off a corner kick from teammate senior Casey Bender.

Defensively, the Hornets were once again outstanding in front of sophomore goalie Ashley Stine.

Emmaus will return to action at 3:30 p.m. on Friday as they travel to Pleasant Valley

Senior Owen Moyer wound up scoring the only goal of the night, his second of the season, as he found the back of the net off a corner kick from teammate sophomore Callum Harvey.

The overtime win was the second in as many games for Emmaus, which was coming off a 2-1 victory over Whitehall last Friday.

Senior Max McGrath picked up the win in goal and was credited with two saves for the Hornets who posted their third shutout in four games.

Emmaus outshot Nazareth 6-2 in the game and held a 7-2 advantage in corners.

The Hornets will return to action at 3:30 p.m. on Friday as they host Pleasant Valley.
