Soccer – Moyer’s goal the difference as Hornets rebound from first loss of season with 1-0 win over Freedom on Senior Night

RECAP >> Emmaus celebrated its Senior Night last night at home at Memorial Field by bouncing back from its first loss of the season posting a 1-0 shutout win over Freedom.

A pair of seniors teamed up for the only goal of the night in the second half for the Hornets as Zach Bernhart assisted Owen Moyer on his foruth goal of the season.

The victory improved Emmaus’ overall mark to 12-1 and the shutout was the 12th of the season. Freedom dropped to 5-6-1.

Statistically, the Hornets dominated holding a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal and a 9-0 in corners. In goal, senior Max McGrath was credited with a pair of saves, while his counterpart, Tristian Willey, made nine stops.

Prior to the game Emmaus honored its nine seniors: Jeff Flamisch, Zach Bernhart, Ty Sommer, Ryan Latchford, Blaise Verrastro, Owen Moyer, Teddy Coenen, Aivan Delgado and Max McGrath.

Emmaus will return to action at 4 p.m. on Saturday as they host Cumberland Valley in a non-league game. The match will be aired LIVE on www.easternpasportsnetwork.com beginning with the pregame show at 3:45 p.m.
