RECAP >> Emmaus celebrated Mentor Day at home at Williams Street Field on Thursday afternoon by posting one of its largest margins of victory over its arch-rival Parkland, a 15-0 blowout in four innings.
Senior pitcher Danica Barthol, one of 10 seniors honored prior to the game along with her mentor, was outstanding in the circle for the Hornets posting a no-hitter while striking out nine.
Behind Barthol, the Emmaus bats continued to remain red-hot as they scored double digit runs for the fourth straight game as the team improved to 6-3 in the EPC and 7-4 overall.
Senior catcher Mason Roselli led the offense going for 2-for-4 with three RBI, while sophomore third baseman Sadie Haefeli also had a pair of hits and two runs scored. Senior shortstop Avaeha Schwab also had two RBI on the day and senior second baseman Daria Krout scored three runs.
Parkland dropped to 4-5 in the EPC and 4-6 overall with the loss. The Trojans were shutout for the third time this season.
Emmaus will return to action at 4 p.m. on Saturday as they host the state’s No.1 ranked team, Spring-Ford, at Pates Park in Allentown. The game will be carried LIVE on The Eastern Pa. Sports Network beginning at 3:50 p.m.
