Head coach Rich Giering’s team rolled to league victories over Pocono Mountain East (9-1) and Bethlehem Catholic (16-5), while also picking up a non-league win over Spring-Ford (8-0).

The Hornets have now won seven straight games as they improve to 12-2 overall and 9-1 in the EPC.

Here’s a recap of the team’s wins over Spring-Ford and Bethlehem Catholic.

At Williams Street Field on Thursday afternoon, sophomore pitcher Mari Eiswerth tossed a shutout, while her teammates backed her effort with plenty of run support in the Hornets 8-0 rout of Spring-Ford from Pioneer Athletic Conference (PAC).

Eiswerth went the distance in the circle in picking up her 10th win of the season, allowing just four hits while striking out nine and walking four.

At the plate, senior second baseman Sadie Haefeli had a big game going 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and three runs scored, while junior catcher Abby Derr also had a solid all-around effort with three hits and a two-run home run, her fourth of the season. Sophomore Sydney Bennett closed out the scoring for the Hornets with her second home run of the season, a solo shot in the sixth inning.

Spring-Ford, which entered the game riding a three-game win streak, dropped to 8-4 on the season.
