Emmaus 4, Blue Mountain 2
At Blue Mountain on Friday, the Hornets knocked off the two-time defending PIAA Class 4A champs with a 4-2 victory.
Emmaus banged out 11 hits in the game off Eagles freshman pitcher Emily Leonard with senior third baseman Avery DeFanti leading the way going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Senior second baseman Sadie Haefeli also had a big day with a pair of hits, including her first home run of the season. Junior center fielder Taylor Hauver also had two hits, for the Hornets who improved to 3-0 on the season.
In the circle, sophomore Mari Eiswerth picked up her third win of the season allowing just two runs on six hits. The right-hander struck out seven and walked none.
Blue Mountain was led junior shortstop Avery Hudock and sophomore first baseman Carla Boyer who both had two hits. Third baseman Emmerson Frie had a solo home run in the loss for the Eagles, who dropped to 2-1.

Emmaus 7, Nazareth 6
At Williams Street Field on Thursday, the Hornets knocked off the two-time defending EPC champs with a thrilling 7-6 victory.
A three-run fifth inning proved to be the difference for Emmaus, who had to hold off a late comeback by the Blue Eagles.
Hauver led the offense going 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored, while seniors Sophia Tranguch and Avery Shank also had a pair of hits. Junior first baseman Abby Derr added a solo home run in the victory.
Eiswerth went the distance in the circle for the Hornets picking up the win in allowing10 hits, including three home runs, in the 116-pitch effort.
Nazareth was led by Taylor Friel who went 2-for-4 with three RBI including a homer. Shauna McNamee added a home run and two hits, while Natalie Chloros had two hits.
In the circle, starter Avery Kauffman suffered the loss allowing six runs on eight hits in four innings of work. Kauffman struck out nine in the game before being replaced by Kylie Grover who pitched the final two innings.
