RECAP — The Emmaus girls swim and diving team celebrated winning their second Eastern Pennsylvania Conference (EPC) championship in the last three years as the Hornets rolled to a 40-point win over rival Parkland 113-73 on Thursday in a duel meet held at Parkland High School.
Head coach Tim O’Connor’s team won eight of the 12 events and completed an undefeated regular-season (11-0) in the EPC, improving to 11-2 overall with their second win over the Trojans in three years.
Senior Abby Heilenman won a pair of individual races (50 free/25.03 – 100 free/54.05) and classmates Chelsea Gravereaux (100 fly/57.72), Katie Champagne (100 back/59.80) and freshman Lauren Sharp (100 breast/1:09.14) also took first place in their respective races.
Gravereaux was also part of three winning relay teams for the Hornets and Heilenman two.
Up next for Emmaus will be the District XI Championships which get underway on March 1 and 2.
