The Emmaus girls and boys set a total of four pool records in while sweeping Nazareth on Tuesday afternoon.  The Hornet girls established three records as they swam to a 133-52 victory, while the boys set one record in their 114-71 win. Both squads remained unbeaten on the season at 3-0 following their victories over the Blue Eagles.

Senior Chelsea Gravereaux led the girls team with records in both the 200 Free (1:54.87) and 100 Free (52.59). The girls 200-yard medley relay of seniors Katie and Maggie Champagne along with freshmen Lauren Sharp and Mya Puentes set a new pool record with a time of 1:52.43

For the boys, sophomore Michael Iacobelli swam to a pool record in the 200 IM in 1:59.43.

Katie Champagne won a pair of individual races in the 100 butterfly (1:00.60) and 100 backstroke (1:01.44 ), as did her teammates Avery King in the 200 IM (2:19.71) Reilly King in the 500 Free (5:19.30) and freshman Chloe Vlaeminck in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.81).

Avery and Reilly King teamed with Puentas and Rautzhan to win the 200 Free relay in a time of 1:43.04 , while the Hornets 400 Free relay of Sharp, Vlaeminck, Gravereaux and Abby Heilenman also took first in a winning time of 3:46.19.

In the boys race, Emmaus and Nazareth each won six events, but the Hornets overall depth proved to be too much for the Blue Eagles, who suffered their first loss of the season (2-1).

Junior Jack Sharp was on both of Emmaus’ first-place relay teams, joining teammates senior Evan Bova, sophomore Nick Soares and Iacobelli to win the 200 medley relay in a winning time of 1:40.13, and also teaming with sophomores Connor Shriver and Luke Rautzhan, along with senior Matt Gertner to win the 200 free relay in 1:32.17.

The Emmaus divers were led by junior standout Brendan McCourt who blew away the competition with a team score of 299.95, while freshman Morgan Belisle finished second in the girls race with a score 148.65, just narrowly being edged by Nazareth’s Natalie Hauck (149.35).
