Thursday RECAP – Boys soccer rallies for rare tie vs Pleasant Valley, while field hockey and girls volleyball roll to shutout wins over Whitehall

Senior Brayden Dang scored Emmaus' only goal in last night's 1-1 draw vs Pleasant Valley.

Emmaus 1, Pleasant Valley 1 (Boys Soccer)

At Pleasant Valley, Emmaus trailed a much-improved Bears squad 1-0 at the half and appeared headed for their second loss of the season.

But senior Brayden Dang changed all that as he scored his second goal of the year off a corner kick with five minutes to play in regulation as the Hornets forced overtime before the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

The result leaves Emmaus with a 12-1-1 overall record and 11-1-1 in the EPC, while the Bears are now 10-2-2 and 9-2-2 in the league.

Statistically, Emmaus doubled up Pleasant Valley in both shots on goal and corners (8-4). In goal, junior Will Peck was credited with three saves for the Hornets, while his counterpart, Zach Prator, made seven stops.

The Hornets will return to action on Tuesday, October 1 as they host East Stroudsburg North at 6:30 p.m.
