At Swiftwater, the Hornets found themselves in an unfamiliar position on Wednesday afternoon trailing for the first time in four games.

Pocono Mountain East became the first opponent to score again an Emmaus defensive unit that had posted three straight shutouts as sophomore Zach Szerszen found the back of the net giving the Cardinals a 1-0 lead at the half.

It appeared for the longest time that lone tally would carry the Cardinals to the upset, but Emmaus had other ideas.

Sophomore Brennan Stack came up with the equalizer, scoring his second goal of the season and tying the game with 1:36 left in regulation, and then senior Canyon Reinhardt came up with the golden goal early in overtime – his team-leading third – as the Hornets remained unbeaten on the season (4-0 overall/3-0 EPC).

In the match, neither team generated many scoring opportunities with Emmaus holding a slim 3-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Hornets did, however, generate eight corners compared to none for the home squad.

In goal, senior Will Peck picked up the win.

The Hornets close out their week on Friday at 3:30 p.m. as they return home to Memorial Field to take on rival Central Catholic.
