Wrestling – Hornets win 11 of 13 bouts, cruise to 61-12 win over Pleasant Valley

Emmaus picked up its third straight league win on Wednesday night at Pleasant Valley rolling to a 61-12 rout of the Bears.

The Hornets (3-1 EPC/7-3 overall) won all but two of the bouts, recording bonus points in 11 of the matches.

Sophomore Emilio Albanese (114) picked up his team-leading 18th win of the season with a 19-3 tech fall over Shawn Radcliffe, who entered the match with a 13-2 record.

Some of the other notable victories included: sophomore Levi Max winning by major decision (10-2) over Victor Custodio at 127 and junior Xayden Sallit with a 17-2 tech fall over Adis Vukel at 172.

Both junior Jackson Max (107) and sophomore Teagan Caciolo (121) also picked up wins, their 15th of the season.

Pleasant Valley’s lone victories of the night came in the upper weights where Evan Gillespie (215) and Andrew Mihalichko (285) both recorded pins. The Bears dropped to 2-2 in the league and 4-4 overall with the loss.

Emmaus will return to action on Friday as they travel out to Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) for the Mid-Winter Mayhem Tournament.
