Coach Best – “There’s certainly excitement amongst the wrestlers and the wrestling community about this season. Last year we got ourselves qualified for the District XI team tournament after missing out two years ago and we wrestled a very good Easton program in the first round. We felt like it was a winnable dual even with one of our better wrestlers (Caciolo) out with an injury. We felt we missed an opportunity to advance to the semifinals, and I think that’s been burned in the brain of our core group of wrestlers that have been training in the offseason and they’re hungry.”
“A year ago, we qualified five wrestlers for the state tournament, four of them are returning and we were able to put two of those five on the podium out at Hershey. At the end of the year banquet, I made a comment that we should be qualifying five or more in my opinion this year, but and we don’t want to come back with just two medalists. If we qualify five, then we want five medalists. If we qualify six, then we want six. That should be the goal.”
