Boys Lacrosse – Hornets end regular-season by handing PAC 10 champ Perkiomen Valley first loss of season 7-4; Flok and Younker set milestones in win

RECAP >> The Emmaus boys lacrosse team capped off one of the best regular-season’s in program history last night as the Hornets went on the road and handed Pioneer Athletic Conference (PAC) champ Perkiomen Valley its first loss of the season 7-4 at Thomas J. Keenan Stadium.

Senior Adam Monek registered his sixth hat trick of the season to lead Emmaus, which closed the regular-season at 16-1. The 16 wins is the most in program history since the 2014 season.

Junior Connor Flock added a pair of goals, including his 60th of the season moving him past former Hornet Tate Klidonas ’09 and into second all-time on the program’s scoring list for goals in a single season.

Another milestone was also reached in the win as junior Zack Younker moved into first all-time for assists in a single-season by an Emmaus player with his four last night giving him 52 for the year. Younker passed Will Scott ’10 who had the previous record with 51.

In goal, senior Ben Franco celebrated his birthday with an outstanding effort making an incredible 15 saves and allowing just one goal after halftime.

Emmaus led all night as they jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the first quarter and still held that one-goal lead (4-3) at the half. The second half was dominated by the Hornets as they outscored the Vikings 3-1.

Perkiomen Valley (10-1) was led in scoring by Dane Hagen who scored a pair of goals.

The Hornets will now prepare for the upcoming Eastern Pennsylvania Conference playoffs which get underway on Monday. Emmaus is the top seed and will host fourth-seeded Easton at 7 p.m. at Memorial Field. The two teams met back on April 29 with the Hornets prevailing 10-5. The game will be carried LIVE on The Eastern Pa. Sports Network.
