Baseball – Lower Mac Youth Legion remains unbeaten with 6-4 win over Bear Cubs; Legion team blanks Solehi 3-0 behind Geist

Lower Mac Youth Legion remained unbeaten on the season with a 6-4 road victory over the Bear Cubs last night at Lee Mecherly Field in Gabelsville.

Zach Heller was the winning pitcher in the victory for LM (9-0) as he scattered five hits in six innings before giving way to Jack Sparango who came on in the seventh to earn the save.

Shortstop Aaron Fleetwood went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, while first baseman Jaden Betz also had a pair of doubles and two RBI. Left fielder Robbie Barnes went 1-for-3 and drove in a run.

Lower Mac will return to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. as they travel to Spring City.

TJ Geist tossed a complete-game leading Lower Mac Senior Legion to a 4-0 shutout win over Southern Lehigh last night at Church Lane Park.

Geist gave up just three hits while striking out nine in leading Lower Mac, which evened its record at 3-3.

Catcher Dayne Schmidt drove in two runs for the winners.

For Solehi (2-4) Chris Fritts suffered the loss.

Lower Mac will return to action tonight at 6 p.m. as they host Salisbury.
