Baseball – Moreau strikes out 11 as Hornets snap two-game losing skid with 7-2 win over Allen.

Cole Moreau was dominant on the mound in leading Emmaus to a 7-2 win over Allen on Wednesday afternoon at Church Lane Park.

The senior southpaw struck out 11 while allowing just one hit in 5 1-3 innings as the Hornets returned to their winning ways after back-to-back losses.

Moreau also helped his own cause at the plate going 2-for-4 with two RBI while right fielder Tanner Karwacki also had a pair of hits, including a triple and drove in two runs. Shortstop Josh Diaz also had two RBI, including his first home run of the season, a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth inning.

For Allen, shortstop Daifer Moreta was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Starting pitcher Jorge Inoa suffered the loss after allowing five runs on four hits in three innings. The Canaries dropped to 2-2 on the season and 1-2 in the league.

Emmaus (2-2 overall/2-1 EPC) will return to action on Friday at 4 p.m. as they host East Stroudsburg North at Church Lane Park.
