Baseball – O’Brien and LePage have big day at the plate as Hornets roll to 12-3 win over CCHS

RECAP >> Senior Andrew O’Brien and junior Tyler LePage each had four hits and combined to drive in seven runs as Emmaus banged out 13 hits in beating Central Catholic 12-3 on Tuesday afternoon at Sam Balliet Stadium in Coplay.

O’Brien went 4-for-5 at the plate with four RBI, while LePage was 4-for-4 and drove in three runs as the Hornets rallied from an early 3-1 deficit to move to 2-0 on the season.

Junior Luke Deschenes had his second strong outing of the season on the mound as he improved to 2-0. The right-hander went six strong innings allowing just three runs on five hits. He struck out four and walked two.

Central Catholic (1-3) was led by junior Andrew LaRock who had two hits. Sophomore Josh Ossiander suffered his second loss on the mound after giving up seven runs on seven hits in 4 2-3 innings.

Emmaus will be back in action on Wednesday at 4 p.m. as they travel to Dieruff.
