Boys Basketball – Hornets hang with rival Parkland for a half, before offense goes cold after break in 64-41 loss to Trojans

Playing in its final game before the holiday break on Saturday afternoon. Emmaus with hung rival Parkland for one half, but the Hornets struggled after the break to keep pace as they fell on the road to Trojans 64-41.

After trailing by just eight (30-22) at halftime, Emmaus was doubled up in the second half as they were outscored 34-17 by Parkland, who put on 3-point barrage with 11 triples in the game.

The Hornets were led in scoring by juniors Jacob Ross and Lucas Stephan with each scoring 10 points. Both players were held to just one field in the game with each doing most of their scoring from the free throw line — Ross (8-for-8) and Stephan (7-for-8).

Emmaus finished the first half of the season with a 4-7 overall mark and 2-5 in the EPC.

Parkland had a balanced scoring attack led by senior Tyler Beck who scored a game-high 12 points. Junior Blake Nassry added 11, senior Nass Adams 10 and freshman Marcus Temchatin eight for the Trojans who improved to 4-1 in the EPC and 5-1 overall. Eight different Parkland players had at least one 3-pointer in the game.

Emmaus won’t return to action until after the holidays when they travel to Stroudsburg on January 6.
