RECAP >> Emmaus remained the lone unbeaten team in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference using a big fourth quarter to pull away for a 63-52 win over rival before a standing-room only crowd at ‘The Hive’ tonight.
The Hornets outscored the Trojans 25-12 in the all-important fourth quarter as they improved to 8-0 in the EPC and 11-2 overall. It was the third straight win by Emmaus who swept Parkland in both regular-season meetings a year ago and it also clinched a berth in the District XI Class 6A playoffs for head coach Steve Yoder’s team.
Junior Jametric Harris had a monster game in leading the Hornets as he drained four 3-pointers and scored 11 of his career-high 25 points in the final period. For his efforts, Harris was named the SportClips Player of the Game presented by The Eastern Pa. Sports Network which carried the game LIVE.
Also coming up with big efforts for Emmaus were junior Will Barber who scored 14 of his 18 points after halftime and senior Dylan Darville who was right behind finishing with 16.
Parkland was led by junior Nick Coval who led all scorers with a game-high 26 points. Defensively, Emmaus was stout against Coval limiting him to just six field goals in the game. Seniors Matt Ray and Gio Escalona added nine points each for the Trojans who fell to to 7-2 in the league and 8-4 overall.
Emmaus will return to action on Monday at 7 p.m. as they host Southern Lehigh in a non-league game.
