At Memorial Field on Saturday morning, visiting Wilson from Berks County raced out to an early lead and were never challenged the rest of the way as the Bulldogs remained unbeaten on the season while continuing their mastery over the Hornets.
Wilson, which has never lost to Emmaus since the two teams first started playing in 2013, scored five goals in the opening period and added four more in the second stanza as they improved to 5-0 on the season.
Junior attackman Harrison Moyer led all scorers with a game-high four goals, while senior midfielder Luke Azzanesi had a six-point game with three goals and three assists. Junior attackman Ian Miller was busy dishing out a game-high five assists while adding two goals. At the faceoff X, senior midfielder Alex Crouse won 14 of 20. In goal, senior Ethan Harding (6 saves) and junior Owen Eastedt (2 saves) combined to allow just three goals.
For Emmaus, which saw its overall record drop to 3-3, sophomore Dylan Maloney scored his seventh goal of the season, while classmate Alex Younker added his team-leading 15th goal and Sam Pechulis his eighth. Freshman goalie Liam Lewis was credited with seven stops.
The Hornets will look to return to their winning ways on Tuesday as they host Northwestern Lehigh at 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Field.
