Boys Tennis – Hornets win three of four matches, defeat Pleasant Valley, Freedom and Solehi to improve to 10-2 on the season

RECAP >> The Emmaus boys tennis team capped off a successful week by winning three of four matches as they improved to 10-2 on the season.

Head coach Brian Bleam’s squad defeated Pleasant Valley (4-3) and Freedom (7-0) in league action, then went on the road and beat Colonial League foe Southern Lehigh (3-2) in a non-league match. The Hornets only loss of the week came on Tuesday when they fell to rival Central Catholic (5-2).

On the season, No.1 singles player sophomore Sean Jaeger remained unbeaten as he improved to 12-0. Classmates Quinn Erk (No.2 singles) and Aidan Springs (No.3) continue to enjoy outstanding seasons as they improved to 9-2 and 9-3, respectively.

In doubles, seniors Grant Haffner and Kevin Gee are the Hornets top tandem combining to go 9-2 on the season.

Emmaus will return to action on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. when they host Northampton. The Hornets will also travel to Nazareth at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday followed by a home makeup match at 10 a.m. on Saturday with Colonial League power Moravian Academy.
