The Emmaus boys volleyball team will compete in its first scrimmage of the preseason on Saturday as they travel to Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg.
Head coach Ken Dunkle’s squad will be amongst 10 teams competing along with Eastern Pennsylvania Conference (EPC) rival Parkland, host Central Dauphin and District 3 foes Dallastown, York Suburban, Cumberland Valley, Northeastern, Penn Manor, Central York and Chambersburg.
Action gets underway at 9 a.m. on three courts. Each round will be one 16-minute timed game and each team will play a total of nine games throughout the day.
Emmaus will be in action at 9:30 a.m. as they’ll take on a familiar foe in District 3 power Central York, which ended the Hornets season two years ago in the PIAA State Semifinals.
The rest of the day’s action for Emmaus includes matches against Central Dauphin (10:30 am), Cumberland Valley (11:30 am), Penn Manor (Noon), Parkland (1 pm), York Suburban (1:30 pm), Dallastown (2:30 pm), Chambersburg (3 pm) and Northeastern (3 pm).
A concession stand will be open for fans attending.
