Kami Reinhard has seen a lot of fast times during her coaching career at Emmaus.

But what the Hornets coach witnessed on Tuesday afternoon at her team’s meet on a rugged and challenging Whitehall Parkway course was next level.

“Fastest races I’ve ever seen at Whitehall in my 12 years of coaching,” said Reinhard on Wednesday morning following the record-setting day. “I can’t explain how difficult this course is, so it points to just how amazing both the girls and boys races were. We had six boys break the previous record!”

Led by junior standout David Hearn, the Emmaus boys remained unbeaten on the season (12-0) after wins over Liberty, Becahi and Freedom, all by 15-50 score.

Hearn smashed the course record finishing in a time of 16:01. The previous mark was set by former Hornet Ryan Fach ’25 (17:43).

Five other Hornets also broke the course record as Emmaus dominated the field with nine runners placing in the top 10.

Junior Roen Wolf was just 11 seconds behind Hearn finishing second (16:12) followed by classmate Michael Carwell who was third in 16:41. Sophomores Mason Hipp was fifth (17:21) followed by Luke Harris (6th/17:35), senior Matt Sirignano (7th/17:36), juniors Kyle Gamler (8th/17:46) and Tyler Eid (9th/17:49) and senior Calvin Schucker (10th/17:51).

In the girls’ race, Emmaus gave pre-season favorite Liberty everything they could handle before suffering their first loss of the season by a point, 29-30.

Six Hornets placed in the top 10 led by senior Grace Nosal with a fifth place finish in 20:38. Junior Samantha Ridenauer followed in sixth at 20:40 followed by classmate Aubrey Kazmierczak (7th/21:03), sophomore Myla Felegy (8th/21:07), junior Clara Baker (9th/21:18) and freshman Morgan Heffelfinger (10th/21:46).

Liberty’s Elizabeth McClarin broke the course record set by former Hornet Madelyn McCartney finishing in a sparkling time of 19:05. Teammates Cali Sobrinski (19:56) and Katie Drabowski (19:57) place third and fourth, respectively.
