The annual cancer charity game – Crosse Out Cancer – between Emmaus and Southern Lehigh high schools will be held on Saturday, April 20 at Southern Lehigh Middle School Stadium in Center Valley.

Now in its seventh year of existence, the two schools join forces to fight cancer by creating awareness with an all-day lacrosse event to benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Hope Foundation and Four Diamond Foundation.

Action gets underway at 10 a.m. with the junior varsity girls followed by the varsity girls at 11:30 a.m. There will be a ceremonial presentation at 12:45 p.m. where representatives from both charities will discuss their mission and special guests will participate in a fun cermonial faceoff. The boys varsity game will then follow at 1:30 p.m.

In addition to the outstanding lacrosse, the event will include various fundraising activities. Throughout the game, prizes of big-ticket raffle items will be awarded. Sheets of raffle tickets will be sold at the game for $10 or $20. Additionally, food and drinks will be available for purchase. During the event, spectators will have access to information tables staffed by Four Diamond and PC Hope Foundation and representatives.

Emmaus’ charity, the Pancreatic Cancer Hope Foundation, is a non-profit organization, whose mission is to create awareness about pancreatic cancer, raise funds for pancreatic cancer research, and to support patients in the Lehigh Valley undergoing treatment for the disease and their caregivers.

Saturday, May 4 will mark the 15th year having their signature event, J’s Run 5K. This event was founded in memory Joan Stein and Jennifer Reeves, both of whom passed from metastatic pancreatic cancer. This memorable event will take place at Saylor Park in Coplay where supporters come together that are working toward a shared goal and celebrating supportive friendships built through their dedicated work.

Southern Lehigh’s charity, the Four Diamonds mission is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children and their families through superior care, comprehensive support and innovative research. Since 1972, Four Diamonds has helped 4,000 children and families at Penn State Children’s Hospital by covering 100 percent of medical expenses related to cancer care not covered by insurance.
