Both the Emmaus girls’ and boys’ teams remained unbeaten on the season (5-0), while handing Easton (4-1) its first loss in yesterday’s meet held at East Penn School District Stadium.

The girls won 80-70, winning 11 of the 18 events.

“Our girls were led by Mady McCartney who competed and scored in four events, earning 18 points for the team,” said Emmaus head coach Kami Reinhard. “The competition brought out the best from both teams, with numerous best marks, especially in the sprint and field events.

The warm weather was ideal for these athletes and some really took advantage of it. Gabby Devita in the 100m dash, Morgan Tandy in the 400m dash, Paige Seay in javelin, Morgan Fletes in long jump, and Sheena Kassis in triple jump all earned the win with best marks.”

The Hornet boys rolled to much wider margin of victory, 107-43, winning all but four of the events.

“Our boys really rallied today to earn the win against Easton,” said Reinhard. “We had a few athletes really step up and perform lifetime best marks. One to highlight is Tyler Grabinski, who broke the outdoor EHS record for pole vault leaping to a height of 15-2. Michael Milot and NIcholi Marsh both performed in three sprint events to lead the sprints team.

“Conor Fisher earned two wins in the 1600m and 3200m, with Jared Petre, Tyler Finck, and Miles Cook scoring in multiple events to boost the distance team. Other overall winners included Lucian Facchiano in the 110m hurdles, Kyle Moore in long jump, Konstantinos Panagopoulos in triple jump, and Nicholas DeSantis in javelin.”

Emmaus will return to the track at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday as the Hornets travel to Liberty.
