RECAP >> A long losing streak finally has come to an end for the Emmaus girls basketball team.
The Hornets snapped a 26-game winless streak in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference (EPC) play on Saturday afternoon as they went on the road and defeated Pocono Mountain East 47-26.
Emmaus (1-6 EPC, 3-7 overall) outscored the Cardinals 26-10 in the second half to pull away and pick up its first league win since defeating East Stroudsburg North 51-28 back on January 29, 2018.
Senior Brooke Wunderler came off the bench and led all scorers with a season-high 10 points for Emmaus. Teammates freshman Keziah Brantley and senior Alyssa Burkhart added 8 and 7 points, respectively for Emmaus, which played its best defensive game of the season.
Pocono Mountain East (1-6, 2-9) was led in scoring by junior Izzy Horvath who had a team-high six points. The Cardinals have lost four straight games and five of their last six.
