Girls LAX – Hollinger and McClain each score 7 goals, Poll reaches another milestone in Hornets 22-2 rout of Governor Mifflin

RECAP >> Emmaus tallied its highest goal total of the season yesterday at home as the Hornets rolled to a 22-2 non-league victory over Governor Mifflin from Berks County.

In the win, Senior Emily Hollinger recorded her third straight seven-goal game of the season, including her 200th career goal. Junior Bri McClain also scored a career-high seven goals, while classmate Jordyn Poll had a six-point effort (3G/3A) including her 200th career point.

Also, junior Olivia Schmidt had a pair of goals to go along with two assists and fellow junior Melea Weber dished out a season-high four assists. In goal, junior Alani Shotwell made seven saves.

Emmaus won its third straight game as they improved to 13-3 overall. The Hornets also avenged for last season’s 14-11 loss to the Mustangs.

For Governor Mifflin (6-7 overall) Emily Gauker and Isabella Seidel each scored a goal.

Emmaus will close out its regular-season next week with a pair of big games. On Monday they will travel to rival Parkland at 7 p.m. and then Thursday they will host unbeaten Pleasant Valley at 6:30 p.m.
