RECAP >> Playing arch-rival Parkland on Senior Night, Emmaus got a battle from its Cedar Crest Boulevard rival on Wednesday at home at Memorial Field.

The Hornets led by just one at the half (8-7), but outscored the Trojans 4-1 over the final two quarters on their way to their fifth straight victory, a hard-fought 12-8 win.

Nine different players registered at least one point for head coach Roxann Betz’s squad who finished their EPC regular-season with a 6-2 record and overall mark of 11-6.

Emmaus earned a berth in next week’s Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Tournament and will likely be the No.3 seed and face second-seeded Easton in the semifinals, while top-seeded Pleasant Valley will take on fourth-seeded Nazareth.

Senior Bri McClain led the Hornets scoring attack with four goals and an assist, while sophomore Jordyn Poll added a hat trick. Senior Jordyn Poll added a pair of scores and classmate Melea Weber dished out a game-high four assists. In goal, senior Alani Shotwell gave up just one goal after halftime and was credited with nine saves.

Before the game, Emmaus honored its eight seniors — Bri McClain, Melea Weber, Olivia Schmidt, Olivia East, Jordyn Poll, Alani Shotwell, Tia Rempfer and Alyvia Herman.

Parkland had a balanced scoring attack with four different players – Gigi Leonzi, Anna Sensinger, Addison Winfield and Milla Hahn – all scoring two goals. The Trojans dropped to 2-6 in the league and 6-11 overall with the loss.

Emmaus will close out their regular-season on Monday at 6:30 p.m. as they host Central Bucks West in a non-league game.
