Girls LAX – Hornets roll to 18-3 win over Saucon Valley behind 12 different goal scorers

A season-high 12 players found the back of the net in Emmaus’ 18-3 road win at Saucon Valley on Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Olivia Schmidt led the offense with a hat trick, while classmate Jordyn Poll had four-point effort with two goals and two assists. Senior Bri McClain also scored a pair of goals in the win and junior Abby DiComes and Brooke Peterson each tallied a pair of scores.

Junior Katie Gross, sophomore Sarah Palazzo and freshmen Sofia Isaksson, Maddie Lenig and McKenna Guzick all scored their first career varsity goals in the win.

In goal, senior Alani Shotwell and junior Devin O’Neil each made two saves.

Saucon Valley was led by junior Riley Lannon who had a goal and an assist. Sophomore goalie Lillian Weighand made 10 saves. The Panthers lost their fifth straight game and dropped to 1-5 on the season.

Emmaus will return to action on Friday at 5:30 p.m. as they travel to District 2’s Crestwood for a non-league game.
