The Emmaus girls lacrosse team completed a perfect 3-0 week on Saturday morning with a 9-4 non-league road win at Governor Mifflin High School. It was the third straight win for head coach Roxann Betz’s squad who improved to 9-6 overall and 4-2 in the EPC.

Senior Bri McClain led the offensive attack in the win over the Mustangs with a hat trick, while freshman Sofia Isaksson and junior Brooke Peterson each scored a pair of goals. Sophomore Sarah Gross had a game-high three assists, and senior Alani Shotwell was ‘amazing’ in goal according to her coach with 11 saves.

Betz also praised the efforts of her defensive unit and the play of junior Maddy China, senior Alyvia Herman and junior Olvia Candy in the first half and sophomores Paige Shickel and Reese Gerhart in the second half. Emmaus was playing without three of its normal starters.

Earlier in the week, the Hornets also picked up one of their biggest league wins of the season with a 13-10 come-from-behind victory over Nazareth.

Eight different players scored a goal in the victory over the Blue Eagles with McClain leading the way with a five-point effort (3g/2a) and teammate senior Jordyn Poll also adding a hat trick.

Emmaus will return to action on Monday at 4 p.m. as they travel to Northampton.
