Senior Mya Cooper was one of six players to score a goal in yesterday's 6-0 win over Freedom in the District XI playoffs.

Visiting Easton scored a pair of goals in the second half as they defeated Emmaus 2-1 on Monday afternoon at Memorial Field.

Sophomore Marley Geiger scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 61st minute as the Red Rovers won their sixth straight game in improving to 10-1 in the EPC and 10-2 overall.

Emmaus had its four-game win streak snapped as they dropped to 10-2-1 in the league and 11-2-1 overall. The Hornets only other EPC loss also came at home, 2-1 to Central Catholic.

After a scoreless first half, Easton was able to find the back of the net with the game’s first goal in the 46th minute from senior Kendall Popp.

Marley’s goal made it 2-0 before the Hornets were finally able to get on the scoreboard in the 78th minute on junior Kam McWhinney’s eighth goal of the season off an assist from senior Sammy Walkiewicz.

Emmaus will look to bounce back today at 5:30 p.m. as they travel to East Stroudsburg South.
