RECAP >> Senior Lindsay Phillips goal in the second half proved to be the game-winner as Emmaus defeated Northampton 3-1 in early Saturday morning matchup at Memorial Field.

The win was seventh in the last eight games for the Hornets who improved to 10-3 overall and 9-3 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference (EPC), and it also marked the second time this season that Emmaus has beaten the Konkrete Kids (3-2 back on August 31).

The Hornets opened up the scoring in the 18th minute of the first half when senior Lauren Latchford took a pass from classmate Liz Andronis and put it past Northampton goalie Payce Korpics

Leading 1-0 at the half, Emmaus then added an insurance goal as Phillips scored off an assist from junior Madison Brown and Andronis, before the K-Kids responded with their only goal of the game from Isabella Nota in the 52nd minute.

Senior Sydney Cole then put the game out of reach for the Hornets with a goal late in the second half to close out the scoring.

In goal, senior Alexa Ryan picked up the win with four saves, while her counterpart Payce Korpics was credited with three stops.

Emmaus will return to Memorial Field at 6:30 p.m. on Monday as they look to avenge one of their three losses of the season taking on rival and undefeated Parkland (12-0 EPC/14-0 overall). The game will be carried live on Penn Sports Radio beginning with the pregame show at 6:20 p.m.
