Golf – Hornets open season sweeping PM East, Northampton and Pleasant Valley behind Walters and Francis

Emmaus opened its Eastern Pennsylvania Conference schedule on Thursday afternoon sweeping Pocono Mountain East, Northampton and Pleasant Valley in a quad match held at Skytop Lodge Golf Course.

The Hornets fired a team score of 413 to finish seven strokes better than second place Pocono Mountain East 420.

Senior Evan Walters V led all golfers with the low round of the day with a 3-over 75. Junior Anderson Francis finished second overall just two shots back with a 5-over 77. Freshman Jake Socci saw his first varsity action and was the Hornets fourth overall golfer with a score of 87.

Pocono Mountain East Chase Murphy was third with a 6-over 78, while Pleasant Valley’s Drew Patascher finished fourth with a 7-over 79.

Emmaus will return to action on August 18 at 11 a.m. when they travel to Southmoore Golf Course to take on league favorite Nazareth along with Liberty and Stroudsburg.
