Senior Evan Walters V took home top honors with a 4-under 67, but Emmaus’ top five couldn’t match league favorite Nazareth and Liberty as the Hornets suffered a pair of losses on Tuesday afternoon at Southmoore Golf Course.
Nazareth, the defending EPC and District XI champs, shot a team score of 380 which was nine shots better then second place Liberty (389) and Emmaus (395) which finished third.
The Blue Eagles (6-0) had four of their golfers finish with rounds in the 70s led by junior Holden Sparks who shot a 1-over 72. Classmate Alex DiGiacinto was two shots back (74) followed by seniors Radek Remaley (76) and Brady Rohn (77).
Liberty (4-2) also had three golfers shoot in the 70s. Senior Jake Wachinski and junior Andrew Erfle each tied with fourth lowest rounds of the day with a 4-over 75. Senior Cam Rodriguez was one shot back with a 76.
Walters, Emmaus’ top golfer, was the only player under par on the day. Junior Anderson Francis was next with an 8-over 79, while freshman Jake Socci, senior Silas Wellhoener and freshman Ian Lamparella each shot 83.
Emmaus will return to the links at Noon on Thursday as they travel to Twin Lakes Country Club to take on Whitehall, Easton and Bethlehem Catholic.
