Lacrosse – Barber scores 6 goals as Hornets defeat Easton to move to 3-0 on season; Girls drop a one-goal game to the Red Rovers 10-9

Emmaus 9, Easton 7 (Boys Lax)

RECAP — Visiting Easton had no answers for trying to slow down Emmaus’ all-everything player Will Barber last night in the Hornets home opener at Memorial Field.

Barber scored five of his team’s goals in the first half and wound up with six on the night as Emmaus held off a late Red Rovers charge for 9-7 victory and a 3-0 start to the season.

For his efforts, Barber was named the SportClips Player of the Game on the LIVE coverage provided by The Eastern Pa. Sports Network. 

Senior Michael Chies added a pair of goals in the win, while junior Jewlien Torres and senior Liam Rooney both added a game-high two assists. At the faceoff-X, senior Jahkari Christian was outstanding winning 9 of 11.

For Easton which remained winless on the season (0-3), junior Cael DiSora tallied two goals.

Emmaus will return to action on Tuesday, March 26 as they travel to Salisbury High School to take on rival Central Catholic at 7 p.m. The game will be carried LIVE on The Eastern Pa. Sports Network.

RECAP –Playing on the road at Easton, Emmaus held a one goal lead at the half, but the Red Rovers were able to rally after intermission to pull out a 10-9 victory.

Junior Tyler Long led Easton to the win with a seven-point scoring four goals and adding three assists. Senior Bianca Falcone added a pair of goals to go along with two assists, while junior Lydia Attisano also tallied two goals.

For Emmaus which dropped to 0-2 in the EPC 1-2 overall, junior Brooke Peterson scored two goals and added two assists. Seniors Bri McClain and Jordyn Poll both added a pair of scores.

The Hornets will return to action on Tuesday, March 26 at 5:30 p.m. when they host Central Catholic.
