Emmaus 8, Easton 7 (Girls)

At Easton, senior Rylie Poll scored the game-winning goal with three seconds left in regulation as the Hornets won an early-season showdown over the Red Rovers.

Poll had a big day in leading Emmaus scoring a game-high four goals, to go along with six draw controls and five ground balls.

Senior Sarah Gross added a pair of goals in the win, while classmate Taylor Younker and sophomore Avery Aquino each added a goal and an assist for the Hornets who improved to 2-0. In goal, junior Kate Rainford was credited with five stops.

Easton was led by junior Rowan Krieger who had a hat trick. Freshman Anabelle Ialeggio added two goals for the Red Rovers who dropped their second straight game in falling to 2-2 (2-1 EPC).

The Hornets will be back in action at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday as they host Northampton.

Easton 10, Emmaus 7 (Boys)

At Memorial Field, Emmaus gave Easton, the three-time defending EPC champs, all they could handle in a early-season matchup between 2-0 teams.

The Hornets got off to a quick start outscoring the Red Rovers 3-1 and even heading into the half, despite being outscored by that same 3-1 margin, Emmaus was still all even at four, but Easton took over halftime as they used a 5-0 third quarter to pull away for the win.

Junior Evan Placotoris had a game-high four goals to lead the Red Rovers, who remained unbeaten in both the league and overall (3-0).

Another junior, Peter Assise added a hat trick while classmate Sean McPeek added a pair of goals.

Emmaus (2-1/2-2) was led by sophomores Alex Younker and Sam Pechulis along with junior Athony Attar who all scored two goals.

Senior Colin Garrett dominated at the faceoff X winning 14 of 18.

The Hornets will return to action on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. as they travel to Northampton.
