Emmaus 8, Stroudsburg 1 (Girls)
At Stroudsburg on Friday afternoon, Cecilia Albeck scored a career-high four goals as the Hornets rolled to their 11th win of the season.
The junior forward scored the first two goals of the game in the first 10 minutes before Stroudsburg became just the second team this season to score against Emmaus cutting the lead to 2-1 on Madison Fuller’s score.
The Hornets (11-0 overall) responded with a pair of goals as they built their advantage to 4-1 at the break and then the second half was dominated by Emmaus as they outscored the hosts 4-0.
Senior Giuliana Meyer added a pair of goals and two assists in the win, while classmate Lizzy Bender added her 10th goal of the season and also dished out three assists. Freshman Brooke Evans added her team-leading 14th goal.
In goal, sophomore Zoe Reppert was credited with one save while freshman Morgan Betz stopped both shots she faced.
Emmaus will return to action on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. as they host Pleasant Valley

At Memorial Field on Friday afternoon, unbeaten Emmaus found themselves in an unfamiliar situation — trailing in a game.
Visiting Stroudsburg took advantage of a hand ball in the box and converted on a penalty kick by Liam Pilcher with 31:06 left in the first half to take an early 1-0 lead. It was just the second goal allowed on the season for the Hornets.
Emmaus would respond, however, as they scored a pair of goals a little over a minute apart late in the half to hang on for the one goal victory.
Senior Caleb Brown scored his first goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1 with 5:37 on the clock, and then junior Brennan Stack wound up scoring the game winner at 4:02, his fourth of the year.
Statistically, Emmaus outshot Stroudsburg 8-3 with the Hornets holding a big advantage in penalty corners (8-1). In goal, sophomore Chase Evans was credited with two saves, while senior Nate Schalles had one.
With the victory, the Hornets remain unbeaten on the season as they improve to 9-0-1 overall and 8-0-1 in the EPC. The Mounties drop to 3-5-2.
Emmaus closes out the week tonight at 7 p.m. as they travel to BASD Stadium to take on Liberty.
