Swimming – Hornet boys cruise to easy win over rival Parkland to remain unbeaten, while girls suffer first loss to Trojans

RECAP >> The Emmaus boys rolled over Parkland 125-58, while the girls suffered their first loss of the season falling to the Trojans 111-75 on Tuesday afternoon in the annual battle of Cedar Crest Boulevard rivals meet held at Emmaus High School.

In the boys’ meet, the Hornets took home first place in all but one event to improve to 3-0 on the season. Meanwhile, the Parkland girls swept all 12 events to also remain unbeaten.

Junior Logan Shriver won two individual events (200 IM/100 backstroke) as did senior Andrew Taylor (200 free/100 free). Both were also a part of a pair of first-place relay teams. Senior Jack Reppert also was a part of two winning relay teams and also captured gold in the 500 free.

Seniors Ryan DeJohn and Ethan Ferris each won one individual event and were on a first-place relay team.

In the girls’ race, Parkland’s Simone Lin stood out winning two individual races and she was also on two first-place relay teams. 

Emmaus senior Morgan Gould finished second in both the 200 and 500 free.

The Hornets will return to action at Noon on Wednesday, December 28 when they travel to the Cumberland Valley Invitational.
