The Emmaus wrestling team will compete in its second tournament of the 2018-19 season on Saturday as they’ll travel to Whitehall High School for the Zephyr Duals.

Head coach Thad Smith’s squad was awarded the No. 4 overall seed and will be among 15 teams competing for this year’s title.

Emmaus will have an opening-round match at 8:30 a.m. against EPC foe Pocono Mountain East, the No. 13 seed. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals to face either No.5 Somerville (NJ) or No. 11 Northeast at 11:15 a.m., while the loser will drop into the consolation round at the same time.

The Hornets will look to improve on their disappointing 10th place finish from a year ago where they went 2-2. The three prior years, Emmaus finished as the tournament runner-up.

Muncy, which finished third in the PIAA AA Team Championships a year ago, was awarded the top overall seed followed by Quakertown (No.2) and East Stroudsburg South (No.3).

Liberty is the defending tournament champion but didn’t return for this year’s event.
