Emmaus dropped its final dual meet of the season at home on Tuesday night falling to rival Parkland in the battle of the Cedar Crest Challenge Cup on Senior Night, 39-15.
It marked the third consecutive year that the the Trojans have claimed the cup over the Hornets.
Parkland, which had entered action riding a four-match dual win streak, won all but four of the 13 bouts and picked up bonus points in four of those matches to improve to 8-6 on the season.
Emmaus closed out the team portion of its schedule at 7-7.
The Hornets four wins came from:
Freshman Emilio Albanese, who improved to 28-2 on the season, with a 4-1 decision over fellow freshman Matt Valez in the first bout of the night at 107;
Sophomore Xayden Sallit, who registered the team’s only pin of the night in 1:31 over senior Xander Deselm to improve his record to 22-10 at 152;
Junior Jesse Scott, improved his overall mark to 23-9 with a 6-2 decision over freshman Chris Roth at 160;
And junior Massimo Tranguch, a 6-3 winner over senior Julius Reyes at 189, upped his overall record to 17-8 on the year.
Prior to the match, Emmaus honored its three seniors — Scott Furniss, Sam Rainford and Brandon Buonanno.
Up next for the Hornets will be the District XI Class 3A Individual Tournament, which will be held at Liberty High School on February 23 and 24.
