Girls Basketball – Freshman Brantley scores career-high 18 points as Hornets win fourth straight rallying for 46-41 win over Wilson

RECAP >> Freshman Keziah Brantley scored a career-high 18 points helping lead the surging girls basketball team to a 46-41 non-league win over Wilson at home on Saturday afternoon.

The victory was the fourth straight and fifth in the last six games for Emmaus, which moved to within one game of .500 on the season (6-7). The Hornets also atoned for one of its worst losses of the season a year ago to Wilson, a 46-12 defeat.

Brantley led all scorers and surpassed her previous career-high 17-point effort in a win at Northwestern Lehigh earlier this season. Teammate senior Alyssa Burkhart added 11 points in the win for Emmaus, which rallied from a three-point deficit at the half (21-18) to outscore the Bulldogs 28-20 in the second half.

Wilson was led in scoring by senior Kaya Burkhart who had four 3-pointers and a team-high 15 points. The Bulldogs dropped to 5-5 overall with the loss.

Emmaus will return to Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action on Tuesday at 7 p.m. as they host Allen.
